Description of Experience: Naadiya is a serial entrepreneur by passion, a civil engineer by training, is Co-Founder at WomHub, where she leads the design and innovation team. She also co-founded WomEng, a global social enterprise developing women and girls for the engineering and tech industry. She is the co-founder of CybHerFence, a cybersecurity start-up and was awarded the Most Disruptive Woman in Tech in Africa at the WomenInTech Awards. Naadiya has worked as a design engineer with a specialisation in public transport, ran the VIP transport operations for the FIFA World Cup at Cape Town Stadium and worked as a management consultant in a niche development consultancy firm, initially focussing on Public Transport and Climate change, thereafter working on leadership and talent and serving as the HR Director. Naadiya is an angel investor in early stage start-ups in Africa with the focus on the engineering industry and an investor in commercial and residential property for the last 8 years and has worked on impact development and bootcamps for 19 years. She serves as an independent board director at the Harambe Entrepreneur Alliance and MMI Foundation, a group specialising in financial services and healthcare insurance, a emeritus director at Pegasys, a niche management consultancy focusing on development projects and is an emeritus director for the International Youth Foundation and the Tom Queba Trust. Naadiya serves as an advisory board member for the University of Cape Town Faculty of Engineering, is a Global Future Council Member with the World Economic Forum: Gender, Education and the Future of Work, a renowned speaker, and was named “Top 20 Young Power Women in Africa” by Forbes Magazine. She is the co-chair of the B20 Saudi Arabia Taskforce on the Future of Work and Education and a member of the B20 Italy special taskforce on Women. In January 2020, she was recognized as one of the Top 4 Most Influential Persons in Technology in Africa by Les Echos (the Financial Times). She is a global leader in gender, inclusion and social innovation. She is the current President of the University of Cape Town Convocation.
